McClure Elementary recently held an ELL (English Language Learners) Family night. Over
30 parents and grandparents (originally hailing from such locales as Mexico, India, Saudia
Arabia and other parts of the U.S.) arrived with food and children in tow for a
night of fun. Miguel Gonzalez, the head of the Modern Language Department at
Washburn University spoke to the families and students about never giving up
their dreams or their language.
