Eisenhower Middle School alumni, Leosha Giardina has been
appointed by the Topeka Public School Board of Education to be the next
principal of Eisenhower Middle School.
Mrs. Giardina is a born and raised Topekan
and a graduate of TPS. She knew at a young age she wanted to be a teacher and was
encouraged to pursue teaching by one of her teachers at Highland Park High
School. Mrs. Giardina attended Emporia State University where she received her
Bachelors of Science Education, and Baker University where she earned her
Master Science in Education and Master of Science in School Leadership.
Since 1999 Mrs. Giardina has been a part of TPS, where she has served
as a classroom teacher, a literacy coach and most recently assistant principal.
She has worked at a number of schools since 1999 including Quinton Heights
Elementary, Scott Dual Language Magnet Elementary, Lowman Hill Elementary,
Meadows Elementary and Eisenhower Middle School.
Mrs. Giardina and her husband, Chris have five children, Makhala 24,
Shania 19, Dasani 15, Sonia 15 and Andres 14. She is a proud grandmother to
three-year-old TJ.
Mrs. Giardina’s personal vision: Everyone has the potential to be
great. I provide ways for students to access information so they can
demonstrate positive behavior, academic success, and appropriate social skills
thus creating a desire within to expose their greatness in and out of the
classroom.
She will assume her new role for the 2016-2017 school year.
