Bev Peterson is an award winner when it comes to her
job. She is the counselor at McClure
Elementary School. For the fourth year
in a row, she has received the Kansas Model School Counseling Program’s
Standard of Excellence award. The award
is given out by the Kansas State Department of Education. Peterson enjoys getting the award, but says
she feels she is just doing her job as a school counselor. “I receive so much support from my principal,
Dr. Jennifer Gordon and the staff at McClure Elementary. They make it easy to want to always do my
best because we have so many exceptional staff members and wonderful students,”
said Peterson. She has been with Topeka
public Schools for seven years, the past two years at McClure Elementary.
We are the largest district in Shawnee County & believe that our students will change the world.
