Principal Dr. Beryl New received the Woman of Excellence award in the education category, while HPHS senior Monica Beltran was the winner in the Future Leaders category.
Dr. New, who has been the principal of Highland Park High School since 2010, said “It is really an honor to have been selected, and a great surprise!” Beltran agreed. “I really appreciated being nominated for this. (Winning) was a surprise for me, too.”
