TPS School Bond Passes

Voters have approved the TPS school bond.  The vote was 65% in favor and 34% opposed.
Superintendent Dr. Julie Ford said of the vote outcome, "It is a great day in Topeka Public Schools!  The bond's focus on safety and additional educational opportunities will benefit our students and staff.  We will involve the parents and community in planning as we progress with this great opportunity for our students."  Board President Janel Johnson said, “Throughout this entire process, our focus has been the students and staff of Topeka Public Schools.  The safety of our TPS family is our highest priority.  We look to providing educational opportunities that will engage our students and inspire them as they pursue excellence.  We are grateful that our patrons took the time to understand the purpose of the bond issue.  Their votes have given Topeka Public Schools the resources necessary to secure our children’s future.”
