Voters have approved the TPS school bond. The
vote was 65% in favor and 34% opposed.
Superintendent Dr. Julie Ford said
of the vote outcome, "It is a great day in
Topeka Public Schools! The bond's focus on safety and
additional educational opportunities will benefit our students and
staff. We will involve the parents and community in planning as
we progress with this great opportunity for our students." Board President Janel Johnson said, “Throughout this entire process, our focus has been the
students and staff of Topeka Public Schools. The safety of our TPS family
is our highest priority. We look to providing educational opportunities
that will engage our students and inspire them as they pursue excellence.
We are grateful that our patrons took the time to understand the purpose of the
bond issue. Their votes have given Topeka Public Schools the resources
necessary to secure our children’s future.”
