The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at Ross
Elementary, Topeka Public Schools’ signature music school, were visited by guest
musicians as part of the school’s Artists in Residence program. The Topeka
Blues Society, headed by Suki Willison, helped arrange the guest musicians and
provided harmonicas for the 4th grade class.
The musicians are spending several weeks at Ross to teach
students about blues music and different kinds of instruments. This program,
called “Blues at Ross,” will conclude with a concert on January 31.
The kids had a great time learning from the visiting
musicians!
