Westar Energy’s Electrify Your Future event on October 15th drew 34 Highland Park High School students. Electrify Your Future is part of a student program developed by Westar and Topeka Public Schools that focuses on engineering, environmental science and technical careers. At the elementary school level the program focuses on career exploration, and the middle school level is aimed at career awareness. At the high school level it creates a pathway for students to work toward a technical career, or a career in the engineering or environmental science fields. This program also offers scholarships for post-secondary engineering, environmental science or business degrees for graduates of USD 501.
We are the largest district in Shawnee County & believe that our students will change the world.
