Board Approves 2013-2014 Budget



The Topeka Public Schools’ Board of Education tonight approved the 2013-2014 budget totaling $196,378,847.  The vote was unanimous.  “I have to applaud our staff and administration for being so thoughtful about how we spend money,” said Board President Janel Johnson.  “Keeping it focused on the classroom and making sure our patrons are considered as well with the mill levy and yet accomplishing such great things.” 

The mill levy for the current school year is 56.307, a decrease from last year’s mill levy of 56.319.   The 2012-2013 budget was $172,631,716.
