Two Topeka West High School students have placed first and third in the second district congressional art competition.  Second District Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins congratulated Jared Scrinopskie for his first place photo called Dreaming.  “The angle of the street was pretty cool.  My teacher Mr. Berryman advised me to download an app on my phone.  It inverts it and can make it symmetrical .  That’s how I got the idea from him,” said Jared.  He receives a free trip to Washington D.C. for a reception honoring the winners from all of the congressional districts across the country.

Patrick Lacey was recognized by Jenkins for winning third place.  His photo entry was a mosaic made up of more than 200 pictures.  Jared is a junior at Topeka West, Patrick is a senior at Topeka West.  There were more than 50 entries in the contest from throughout the second congressional district.
