Sergeant Mike Homan has been walking the halls of Topeka
High School for 35 years. That’s how
long he has been a campus police officer at the city’s largest high school. Homan is retiring this year. A surprise retirement ceremony took place today
in the school auditorium in front of hundreds of cheering students.
Director of School Safety Ron Brown presented Homan with a
medal of merit, plaque and badge among other items. Homan thanked the students and staff of
Topeka High School and his fellow Campus Police and Topeka Police Department
officers for helping him over the years.
