Topeka West Band Named Grand Champion



The Topeka West High School Marching Band just returned from a very successful trip to the Chick-fil-A  Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia.  The band performed at half time of the football game on December 31st. 

The Topeka West band also participated in a band competition while in Atlanta.  Band Director Barry Evans reports the percussion ensemble received a gold rating or 1st place.  The jazz band captured first place.  In color guard competition, band members received a rating of 96 out of 100 points.  In the marching band field show, Topeka West received a gold rating or 1st place.  The band also was named grand champion in the field show competition.
