Students at State Street Elementary joined school district
and city officials in a ribbon cutting at State Street on January 17th. A multi-million dollar construction project
added multiple classrooms, a gymnasium, black box theater and office area that
connected State Street with nearby Chase Middle School. State Street and Chase have been designed as
signature schools with an emphasis on the performing arts.
School board members held their meeting at State Streets. Students in several singing groups performed during
the meeting while other students put on a short play.
Last fall, a ribbon cutting was held at Ross Elementary to
celebrate a construction project that added classrooms to the school and connected it
with Eisenhower Middle School. Ross and
Eisenhower are also a signature school with the focus on music.
