Students throughout Topeka Public Schools are helping make
the Christmas season better for many needy families. Student council members at Landon Middle
School delivered 32 fleece blankets to the Topeka Rescue Mission recently. “We just wanted to do something nice and we
decided to make blankets,” said 6th grader Lauren Dietrick. The students accepted fleece material
donations earlier this month, then spent three days turning the fleece into
blankets. Landon students have also
collected new clothes, personal care items, kitchen items and food to donate to
a family. It is one of many examples of
students helping others this holiday season.
We are the largest district in Shawnee County & believe that our students will change the world.
