Hope Street Receives Church Donations

The Parent Child Learning Center at Hope Street Academy was the recipient of more than 3,800 disposable diapers today, part of the Dry Bottoms Initiative by several Topeka churches.  For the past two years, Antioch Baptist Church, St. John AME and Bible Church of God-Seventh Day have donated clothes to Avondale East and Highland Park Central Elementary schools through the church’s Project Warmth Program.  This year, Calvary Baptist church joined the other churches to help collect and donate the diapers and wipes for the young children of Hope Street students. Church spokesperson Norma McGill  says, “We feel truly blessed to be of service to school age children.”  The church's goal is to continue to support schools in USD 501.
