Highland Park High School and Topeka West High School
marching bands represented Topeka Public Schools in the Capital City Marching
Band Festival held at Washburn University on October 10. Nine high school
marching bands participated in the event.
Highland Park received an excellent rating in all categories judged, the second highest score that can be awarded.
Superior ratings went to Topeka West in all categories judged. That’s the highest rating a band can achieve. Because they received the highest rating possible in all categories, they also earned a Trophy of Distinction.
