Topeka High senior Kayla Moore is one of only four Kansas high school students invited to attend the Harvest of Hope Leadership Academy’s Close Up Program in Washington D.C. The six day high school program is designed to help students better understand how they, as ordinary citizens, can contribute in the U.S. democracy. Daytime activities include interactive meetings, debates, a mock-congress, and visits to Washington DC’s famous monuments, memorials, and Capitol Hill. Students will also be able to meet their U.S. senators and representatives to discuss important issues. Moore was invited to attend Close Up based on her dedication to her education and her performance and excellent leadership qualities (Respect, Responsibility, Effort) during the past HHLA summer program.
We are the largest district in Shawnee County & believe that our students will change the world.
