THS Student Blogs for New York Times

Topeka High senior Leobardo Espinoza has been chosen to be a blogger for the New York Times. Eight high school seniors from across the country were selected from a large pool of candidates submitted by counselors. Leo is a first-generation college student. His participation in AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) has sparked a desire to attend college. As a blogger, he will communicate his college search experiences with blog posts and videos through May of 2013. He, along with the other seven bloggers, will tell his story in a New York Times series called “The Envelope, Please.”
