Eisenhower Students Give Back to Community

Students at Eisenhower Middle School were busy today giving back to the community. The event was tied to the positive action program. This is the first year for the positive action curriculum at the school. Positive action is aimed at improving a student’s self-esteem and in helping them make good choices.

Students fanned out in the neighborhoods surrounding the school collecting trash, helping people in their yards, planting flowers at nearby churches and doing some landscaping at a retirement home. Other students helped clean up the inside of the school and did some painting outside the school.

A school spokesman said the event helps get the kids involved in positive things and helps them instill pride in their community.
