Dicus Sets State Swimming Record

Emily Dicus, who graduated from Topeka West High School a week ago, was named swimmer of the year after a record setting performance at the class 5A State Swimming and Diving Championships. Dicus set two new records last Friday in the 100 and 200 freestyle at the Capital Federal Natatorium at Hummer Sports Park

She broke her record in the 100 freestyle a day later and became the first female to swim the 100 freestyle in less than 50 seconds. Dicus now holds four state swimming records in class 5A.
